My family loves fish fillets more than fish with bones, so any time I make fish is the shallow fried one. Finally i tried the same masala and made dry fish masala and it worked out absolutely fine. I used tilapia fillets and it takes less than 20 minutes to prepare and delivers a very tasty dish.

Method :
- Wash fillets in running water and cut into bite size pieces.
- Marinate them with 2 tbsp of salt, turmeric powder for at least half an hour. Any smell from fish will be gone by doing this.
- Dry roast red chillies, coriander seeds, cumin seeds and grind them with coconut.
- Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a pan, add onions and saute till translucent, add ginger garlic paste. Saute till the raw smell is gone. Add the ground mixture and cook till the raw smell is gone. Add 1/4 cup of water.
- Add fish fillets, cover and cook for 10 minutes. Turn over the fish fillets gently so they dont break. Check salt and add if needed.
- Increase the flame, uncover and cook for another 5 minutes until all the water evaporates.
- Sprinkle cilantro and serve hot with rice and rasam.
- If using frozen fish, add salt , turmeric powder and lemon juice, wash off the fish and add the same ingredients and marinate for half an hour.
